While you cannot target farm specific exotic drops, you can farm the overall class of item. You have ten exotic engrams in your postmaster, and if you’re say, going for Stompees, you can wait until the next master lost sector is boots day, and turn in all ten for ten shots at the boots you want, after farming two lost sectors of your choosing. Any enemy can potentially drop an Engram, though Majors and Ultras have a better chance of doing so.
